Clara Ward - Dead End Street

Unread postby musicmonkey » Sat Jan 09, 2016 1:03 am

They say this is a big rich town
but I lived in the poorest part
I knew I'm on a dead street in a city without a heart
When you're raised on a dead end street your mind's gotta be mighty strong
Many folks I know are getting in trouble
That's how it's always been
When the odds are all against you how can you win?

Clara Ward was an American gospel artist who achieved great artistic and commercial success in the 1940s and 1950s, as leader of The Famous Ward Singers.
