If you were in charge, what would you do?

Send more instructors to teach them how to effectively defend their own country so that the coalition forces can leave alot sooner. It's hard to do much else until Iraq has a powerful Army that is able to stomp terrorism in their own country.

I partially agree, but one thing we really don't get in the western world is that this area is largely a tribal culture of druglords and warlords. Afghanistan moreso than Iraq, but the entire Middle East is a very different way of life for most. I think what is needed is dialogue with the various sects and tribes leaders so that they stop killing each other. While I think partitioning is only a band-aid solution, that might be a quick fix although it would devastate Baghdad since it's both Sunni and Shia. That said, Canada got Northern Ireland to disarm through years of peacekeeping initiatives, diplomacy and dialogue with both sides so it is possible.
